Singer(s): RASHID ALI

Cast(s): IMRAN KHAN , GENELIA D' SOUZA , MANJARI FADNIS
Hindi Lyrics:

Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Zindagi Me Yun Hi Koi Apna Lagta Hai
Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Woh Bichad Jaye Toh Ek Sapna Lagta Hai
Aise Me Koi Kaise Apne Aansuon Ko Bahene Se Roke
Aur Kaise Koi Sochle Everything Gonna Be Okay
Kabhi Kabhi Toh Lage Zindagi Me Rahi Na Khushi Aur Na Maza
Kabhi Kabhi Toh Lage Har Din Mushkil Aur Har Pal Ek Saza
Aise Me Koi Kaise Muskuraaye ,Kaise Has De Khush Hoke
Aur Kaise Koi Sochle Everything Gonna Be Okay

Soch Zara Jaane Ja Tujuko Hume Kitna Chahte Hain
Rote Hum Bhi Agar Tere Aankhon Me Aansun Aate Hain
Gaan Toh Aata Nahi Hai Magar Fir Bhi Gaate Hain
Hey Aditi Maan Kabhi Kabhi Saare Jahan Me Andhera Hota Hai
Lekin Raat Ke Baad Hi Toh Savera Hota Hai

Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Zindagi Me Yun Hi Koi Apna Lagta Hai
Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Woh Bichad Jaye Toh Ek Sapna Lagta Hai
Hey Aditi Has De Has De Has De Has De Has De Tu Zara
Nahi Toh Bas Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Muskura

Tu Khush Hai Toh Lage Ke Jahan Chaiyi Hai Khushi
Sooraj Nikle Baadalon Se Aur Baaten Zindagi
Sun Toh Zara Madhosh Hawa Tujhse Kehne Lagi
Ki Aditi Woh Jo Bichadte Hain Ik Na Ik Din Fir Mil Jate
Yeh Aditi Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na Phool Fir Khil Jate Hain

Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Zindagi Me Yun Hi Koi Apna Lagta Hai
Kabhi Kabhi Aditi Who Bichad Jaye Toh Ek Sapna Lagta Hai
{Hey Aditi Has De Has De Has De Has De Has De Tu Zara
Nahi Toh Bas Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Thoda Muskura} - (5)

Airtel Mobile Bharti Q1 Profit Up With Huge Subscriber Increase in Airtel Postpaid and Airtel Prepaid Plans

Mobile operator Bharti Airtel Ltd beat forecasts on Thursday by grossing a 34 per cent rise in quarterly profit, sending its shares up 5 per cent.

"It has been a particularly strong quarter, with monthly customer adds crossing the 2.5 million mark," Chairman and Managing Director Sunil Mittal said in a statement.

"This clearly demonstrates the Indian telecom growth story is intact and the rural markets are witnessing strong uptake. We are confident of continuing to lead this growth story," he said.

Bharti, about 30 per cent of which is owned by Southeast Asia's top phone firm, SingTel, said consolidated net profit rose to Rs 20.25 billion ($484 million) in its fiscal first quarter ended June, from 15.1 billion a year earlier. Revenue rose by 44 per cent to Rs 84.83 billion.

Bharti provides mobile services on the popular GSM platform in all of India's 23 service areas, and accounts for nearly a quarter of the country's total mobile users.

Last year, Bharti’s average revenue per user had fallen to Rs 350 from Rs 390, even as minutes of usage climbed to 534 from 478 a year earlier.

UPA government likely to win trust vote?

Finally, it has become clear that congress lead UPA government is heading for victory in trust vote which will take place today evening. Major relief came for government today when six MPs of opposition submitted their leave applications to speaker of parliament, later their application are also accepted by speaker.

Therefore, now government is only required to secure just 268 votes for winning this trust vote. Moreover, at least 4 opposition MPs are likely to vote in favour of government against their parties’ decision to oppose government. 2 independent MPs from northeast have also decided to vote in favour of UPA government.

2 MPs of National conference will also support government in today’s trust vote. Therefore, we can say that government is very likely to win this trust vote with good margin. Some opposition parties have already accepted their defeat and they are trying to reunite their MPs with them.

Overall, it is good news for UPA government that they will survive for few more months and get good chance to prepare for next elections.

Dark Knight takes a record $155m

Christian Bale, as Batman and Heath Ledger as the Joker

Some supporters say Ledger should get a posthumous Oscar nomination

Batman film The Dark Knight has set a box office record for best opening weekend ever at the US box office, distributor Warner Bros has said.

The sequel took $155.3m (£77.7m) in North America, beating the record set last year by Spider-Man 3, which took $151.1m (£75.5m).

Batman, which opened on Friday, took $66.4m (£33.2m), which was also a single-day box office record.

Directed by Christopher Nolan, it cost $185m (£92.5m) to make.

Critics have praised the film, which stars Christian Bale as Batman and the late actor Heath Ledger, who plays the Joker.

'Proud'

"We have been thrilled by the response to The Dark Knight, first from the critics and now from audiences," said Dan Fellman, Warner's head of distribution.

Ledger died following a drug overdose in January aged 28.

Some supporters have suggested that he should get a posthumous Oscar nomination.

Last week Ledger's co-stars paid tribute to him at the world premiere of the film in New York.

"We're very proud of the film," said Fellman.

"It's the magic of the movie business, how one film just stands out above the others."

The Dark Knight will have its UK premiere on 21 July.

The last Batman movie, Batman Begins, in 2005, grossed nearly $49 million in its first weekend in North America.

It went on to collect about $372 million worldwide.

Salman-Shahrukh Khan fight-war of words at Katrina birthday party

Katrina's birthday part was hot news all around and still seems it is not going to get off from the news. Earlier news were that Salman proposed Katrina to marry him in the party and now the news are about the fight between Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan, the war of words which almost got urged to the physical fight.

The party of Katrina's birthday, keyed by Salman Khan at Olive Bar and Kitchen, Bandra was attended by many biggies of Bollywood. And this is when Salman and Shahrukh got heat up on some argument. As per the local news paper of a Mumbai, Salman was high when Shahrukh entered the party with Gauri. Seeems Salman was not already happy with Shahrukh as he recently denied Guest Appearance in movie produced by Salman Khan named "Main Aur Mrs. Khanna" .

Salman started taunting him and said that his show "Panchvi Paas" a total failure, earlier Shahrukh took it as fun but later on the atmosphere between two got heat up and Salman even said that he will beat Shahrukh, Shahrukh became more aggressive, said he will beat him in his party. It was almost a physical fight but Gauri just interrupted in time and said she wanted to leave. Both Shahrukh and Gauri left the party.

News are that later on, when Salman got cooled down, Aamir took Salman to Shahrukh's place and then both had a long talk. Most preferably a sort of patch up.

Interesting point is that this news came out much after the incident happens. Well, seems Khans were committed to keep it secret as things seems settled now but you know, news is out and we all know it !

The Dark Knight - Movie Review

Dark Knight - Movie Review
It’s been about 15 months since I walked out of the theater after seeing Spider-man 3, my hands laced in my pockets, and my head facing the ground in disappointment. It was my birthday and by the end of the night, it did not feel like a happy one. Ever since then, I have not even been able to watch Spider-man or Spider-man 2, knowing how the third film let me down, and I own both the movies. 2007 was just a shitty year for comic book movies (Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four, and Spider-man 3). However, 2008 has more than made up for it. A heavy dose of Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk have made me feel better, but walking out of The Dark Knight was nothing short of a breath of fresh air. My point is that other comic book movies just feel insignificant compared to this one. So finally, I think I can let go of my Spidey depression and forget about it.

Director Christopher Nolan revived the Batman franchise that was mauled to death by Joel Schumacher with a fresh take, and the result was Batman Begins. While not a perfect movie, it was clear that when Batman closed with the line “And you’ll never have to” in response to Jim Gordon’s “I never said thank you,” that bigger and better things were to come. But take my word for it, even with the hype as high as it is, nothing can prepare you for the greatness you will witness in the sequel, The Dark Knight. Put simply, this belongs on the shortlist of the best American movies in the last two years, and that includes titles like No Country For Old Men and The Departed.

Nolan is already widely beloved by mainstream audiences for his gifted storytelling techniques, but with The Dark Knight, he makes a strong case as to why he should be remembered as the definitive filmmaker of this decade. I’m not the biggest fan of him either. Until now, I don’t think he has ever made a great movie, but he certainly hasn’t made anything that wasn’t good either. How many directors can vouch for that?

Written by Nolan, along with his brother Jonathan and renowned scribe David S. Goyer (credited to the story only), The Dark Knight gets my vote as an early contender for best screenplay of the year. Exceptionally crafted and brilliantly paced, by the 90 minute mark of this 152 minute film, the viewer is sucked down a pitch black rabbit-hole and left to wonder when the light at the end of the tunnel will appear. In other words, this is a rare movie going experience in which you have no idea how things will turn out in the end because you are shocked and amazed by what you have already seen.

The movie picks up just a few months from where Begins left off. The streets are becoming cleaner by the day. New District Attorney Two-Face Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) has been deemed as Gotham’s White Knight after he single handedly puts half of the mob force behind bars. Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) is starting to get high hopes that the day that Gotham City no longer needs Batman is coming, and he can finally be with true love Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal subbing for Katie Holmes), but he may be too little too late as Rachel is starting to fall in love with Dent.

Down but not out, the mob turns to the Hitler inspired character of the Joker (the late Heath Ledger). Wayne’s butler, Alfred (Michael Caine), says it best: “In their desperation, they turned to a man they didn’t fully understand.” A psychotic mass murderer, and a clever one at that, the Joker devises one terrorizing plot after another in order to turn Gotham into a state of anarchy, leaving Gotham’s finest, including honest cop Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman, soon to be commissioner), not only feeling helpless and unable to protect the public but fearing for their very lives. Things get even more interesting when the Joker announces that he won’t quit until the true identity of Batman is revealed.

Dark Knight - Movie Review
The tagline of one of the movie’s posters is “welcome to a world without rules” and it could not be more fitting. Nolan’s vision is no-holds-barred and all the better for it. This movie is dark and complex, and never shies away from collateral damage or the potential thereof, which rewards the audience with one of the most suspenseful climaxes in recent memory. Despite the lack of foul language, how the movie slipped by with a PG-13 is beyond me. This is a haunting picture that left me with trouble sleeping last night. Keep the little ones away.

Much like Iron Man, although far different in tone, The Dark Knight is a movie for our times. The words terror and chaos stick with you consistently throughout the film. The Joker symbolizes terrorism, and similar to the crazy fucked up world we live in today, we don’t quite understand it. The obstacles Batman, Harvey Dent, and Jim Gordon face almost seem insurmountable and will no doubt show their true colors. Viewers will be left glued to their chairs, wanting to turn away at times but finding themselves unable to do so. One of the most disturbing and indelible scenes is where Joker torches a giant pile of money. “It’s not about money,” he says. “It’s about sending a message.”

The three major characters (Batman, Joker, and Two-Face) are each given ample screen time. While many have complained (myself included) about the villains outshining the caped crusader in the Batman films of old, here it works (another pay-off from Begins). Their storylines seamlessly work their way into the script and there is never a lack of character development.

I’ll get to Heath Ledger in a moment, but I would like to start off with Aaron Eckhart, who in spite of the presence of Christian Bale and Ledger, should not go unnoticed. His performance is composed and controlled, and his inevitable fate is just a short cry from heartbreaking. Meanwhile, Bale proves once again that he IS Bruce Wayne and he IS Batman. As the dark knight, he is intimidating and impressive and it’s no wonder as to why criminals fear the streets at night. As alter ego Bruce, Bale is perfect in his scenes with Rachel Dawes. He is confronted with the desire to have a normal life and does everything he can to hold on to his true love.

Then there’s Ledger, who is miles ahead and away from Jack Nicholson’s take on the Joker. As a villain, comparisons to Javier Bardem’s Oscar winning role in 2007’s stunner No Country For Old Men instantly comes to mind. I would say he’s equally good as he completely disappears behind his makeup and gets lost within the mind of a sociopath. The fact that he is dead should have nothing to do with whether or not he should be nominated for an Oscar. Ledger deserves award consideration for his work because it’s a bravura performance any way you slice it. Just as the Coen brothers did, Nolan proves that not wasting time with villain origins pays off in the long run and it only enhances its effect on the audience. Nolan even goes a step further by having the Joker tell anecdotes to his soon-to-be victims about how he got the scars on his face, and he changes the story each time.

As for the rest of the cast, Gary Oldman is superb as his Jim Gordon shows his resiliency in the face of adversity. His impact on this film is thankfully greater than the role he played in Begins. Maggie Gyllenhaal is a step above Katie Holmes in the role of Rachel Dawes, who now seems to be more independent and a stronger presence. Finally, the always reliable Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman, as succors Alfred and Lucius Fox, are as good as ever, providing advice and encouragement to Bruce Wayne in his times of distress.

Brilliantly bleak and chillingly Gothic (credit the enthralling cinematography by Wally Pfister), The Dark Knight emerges as the first truly great film of 2008, and it has been a year that has seen a frustrating lack of greatness so far. Christopher Nolan’s epic arrives not a moment too soon. The only downside is that The Dark Knight may be too good. It would be hard to ask and anticipate another sequel to be better than this one. While Nolan and Co. leave the door open with an interesting premise, no one would blame them if they decided to quit while they’re ahead.

Azhaipithazh Movie Review

Movie Review:Azhaipithazh
Rating :1.75/5
Banner :Sri Venkatachalapathy films
Cast :Ratheesh, Sona, P.K. Rajmohan, Ezhil, M.S. Bhaskar, Balu, Arun, Lakshmanan
Music: Sitesh
Producer: Sri Venkatachalapathy films
Director: P.K.Rajmohan
Released Date: July 11, 2007

Story:
A very twisted tale, the story is about Shiva (Ratheesh) who is an IT guy living in Chennai and life keeps going on for him until one weekend he makes a trip to a village to attend a wedding. There his eyes fall on Sandhya (Sona) and after observing her manners and looks, Shiva falls for her instantly and decides that she is the one for him. He does not waste his time and informs the same to his parents who are more than happy about his choice. However, when they go to the village to see the girl along with Shiva, he sees that it is not Sandhya but someone else (Ezhil). As expected, Shiva is upset and he calls of the whole arrangement and comes back to Chennai but then his thoughts on Sandhya keep haunting him all the time. As luck would have it, he again chances upon her unexpectedly and before everything looks set, his father calls him back to village as he has arranged for an alliance. The truth is the girl happens to be Sandhya but Shiva is not aware of that. Again a twist happens as Shiva comes to village only to find Ezhil and not Sandhya. Yet again, he is upset but he does not give up and calls off the engagement. Meanwhile, Sandhya comes across an ex serviceman Major Rajasekhar (P K Rajamohan) during a matrimonial meet and is taken by him for his nobility and good nature. She decides to get married to him unknowing of Shiva's hazzles trying to reach her. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come out with a straight line subject but then he has put so many twists and turns in it that the impact value comes down. The presentation is alright but the narrative as mentioned earlier gets slack. The dialogues are alright and the script is neat but then the flavour is not there on the romance angle and it is all about hoping and getting disappointed. The music is below average, the camerawork is amateur, editing could have been a lot better, the screenplay is simple. Ratheesh has show enough aptitude in front of the camera but then he needs to work more on his expressions, Sona looks good yet her acting skills need more polishing. M S Bhaskar did his best to gather few laughs which is acceptable. The others did their bit and contributed to the credits of the film.

Conclusion:
The film has a sad ending and that too after testing the protagonist for so many times and playing with his emotions. The audience who always feel good with happy endings are not used to such negativity, though there have been classics like 'Kadhal Kottai' 'Kaalamellam Kadhal Vaazhga', this flick lacked that level of maturity and presentation given the fact that most of them involved in the venture were novices. The entire length of the film goes on a topsy-turvy ride of emotions, hopes and disappointments ultimately leading to a dark end. Commercially, it does not have the artistic touch to create an impact but then the efforts of the debutantes must be appreciated.

The Dark Knight Box Office: Down Goes the Midnight Record

The Dark Knight sets Midnight record

Going into this weekend, there was no question that THE DARK KNIGHT, director Christopher Nolan’s infinitely praised and super-highly anticipated follow-up to his 2005 Batman franchise reboot Batman Begins, was going to make a lot of money. In fact, I believe the proper metaphor would be that it is going to drive away with truck-loads of cash at the box office.

That said, it should come as no surprise to anyone that it is being reported this afternoon that the film has set the all-time box office record for a midnight opening, bringing in an estimated $18.5 million. This number, however, doesn’t include any of the 3:00 a.m. or 6:00 a.m. shows that were being run in theaters across the country. And as I experienced very early this morning as I exited one of the midnight shows in town, the 3:00 a.m. shows were filling up quite nicely as well.

For those keeping score at home, this marks two box office records thus far for The Dark Knight — the widest opening ever (4,366 theaters) and now the largest midnight opening gross, beating out Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, which made $16.9 million in its midnight release. That film, which opened on a Thursday, went on to make $50 million in its first day. The current all-time record for highest single day opening is Spider-Man 3, which made $59.8 million. While we will have to wait until sometime very late this evening or early tomorrow to see whether Batman can add another notch on his utility belt, for now we can safely say that things are going well for the caped crusader.

Story:

A simple yet sensible love story, the film is about Raj (Shahid Kapoor) who is the perfect man. He is the best student in his architectural college, first in sports and other activities, looks stunningly handsome and is blessed with a kind heart. Despite the perfection in him, the biggest challenge for him is to get the much needed break that will catapult his talent and project him to the world. He is just about to get what he wants and then fate seems to play a bit of bad luck on him. Raj gives up and finally decides to visit a crystal ball gazer Hasina Bano Jaan (Juhi Chawla) who flashes a quirky smile and announces that his good time is near and he will soon get what he wants but then she puts Raj in a puzzle by saying that he needs to hold on to his 'Kismat' to achieve all this. While Raj is still baffled, he moves and true to the prediction, he is able to convince the famous builder Sanjeev Gill (Om Puri) with his talent and bags a prestigious project. On the other hand there is Priya (Vidya Balan) who believes in making this world a better place and she would not hesitate to stand up to any situation all by herself to face the consequences. Raj chances upon Priya and conveys that he is the only one who can save her community centre from getting demolished and in this process he also manages to expose her fiancé (Amit Varma) and his flings with other women. There is also another challenge for Raj in the form of his old college foe Dave (Manoj Bohra) who is his foremost rival in business. Is Raj successful in keeping up his word? How does he handle the misdoings of Dave? What exactly is the good luck charm that he needs to hold on to? All this forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:

The director has not drifted from his regular formula and takes the film to an upward graph right from the word go. The presentation has been perfect though the narration lost out on its pace at some points. The script was well knit, the dialogues were neat, the screenplay was top notch, the music was good with three good numbers to its credit and the camera was fantastic in capturing the scenic locales of Canada. The editing could have been better during the second half but overall it was deft. Shahid has yet again proved that he is a true performer and the confidence was showing in him, Vidya is a natural beauty and does not need much work on her to look attractive. The best part- their chemistry looked excellent unlike all assumptions. Himani does a good job with her typical Punjabi accent, Juhi Chawla was boisterous but fitted the role well, Boman was not used to the fullest while Om Puri was perfect, both Manoj Bohra and Vishal Malhotra came up with impressive performances and made their presence felt on the screen. The rest were good and did their bits with ease.

Conclusion:

It always helps to watch a film which starts with a struggle and ends with a success and with the mysterious element of fate and luck attached to it, the plot gets more interesting. The first half of the film was good with a moderate and steady pace but then it was the second half which really went against the movie due to its lengthy drama to the finale. There was a moment or two when the audience looks here and there waiting for the actual thing to happen. The film may not leave an everlasting impact and give you a high but it will surely make you feel satisfied at the end of the tale. The makers will reap profits out of it easily without much hassle.

HARE RAM MOVIE REVIEW

Film:HARE RAM
Rating: 3/5
Banner: NTR Arts
Cast: Kalyan Ram, Priyamani, Kota, Sindhu Tolani, Brahmanandam, Ali, Seetha, Ashok Kumar, Chandramohan, Venu Madhav, Raghu Babu, Nutan Prasad, Apoorva and others
Music : Micky J Meyer
Cinematography: C Jayaram
Director: Harshavardhan
Producer: Kalyan Ram
Released Date: July 18, 2008

Story:

A confused tale, the film begins with the twins Hari and Ram (Kalyan Ram) who are of contrasting natures. While Hari is the more subtle and intelligent guy, Ram has a problem with his Medulla in brain, which makes him a cranky guy. He is unable to digest anyone's intelligence which makes him violent and killing prone. Unable to stand this, Ram's mother Vasundhara (Seetha) takes him away to lead a separate life when they are children. Soon Hari grows up to be an IPS officer and with the passing of his father (Chandramohan), he lives with his uncle and aunt (Chalapathi Rao & Sudha). On the other hand, Ram grows up to be the same violent guy with the Medulla problem and keeps hating his brother, since he is intelligent. He kills a news reporter (Prabhakar) and later the prominent doctor G K Reddy (Rajeev Kanakala), who happens to be the younger brother of health minister Siva Reddy (Kota), Hari gets to investigate the case and realizes that it is Ram who is doing all this. Meanwhile, there is the CBI officer Anjali (Priyamani), who suspects foul play with Hari and gets close to him with a hatched plan and finally arrests him suspecting him to be the killer. The suspense is revealed to her at a later stage and she realizes the truth about Hari and Ram through their mother. What is the real truth? Who is Sravani (Sindhu Tolani) in the midst of all this? Why does Ram kill the brother of the health minister and the news reporter? All this forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:

The director wanted to come out with a suspense concept and a scientific subject but then he lost his path as soon as he started. The presentation was good but the narration was outdated, the main culprit is the screenplay and the dialogues, which were disastrously lifeless. There was absolutely no intensity or punch in them to create an impact in the audience. However, the saving grace of the film is some really good music and three songs were worth watching and taking home, even the cinematography was professional and captured the shots perfectly. The stunt department did a good job which kept the audience busy. Costumes were alright but did not create the oomph for Priyamani as it was publicized. Coming to the cast, Kalyan Ram looked handsome and some of his scenes were apt, but then he still needs to work on intense scenes and expressions like showing anger and dialogue delivery. Overall he was likeable and he has worked very hard which needs to be appreciated. Priyamani was stylish but not sexy, she has this natural beauty which gives her a good screen presence but her character was not built correctly leaving no scope for performance. Kota was his regular self, Ashok Kumar was theatrical, Seetha was apt as a mother, the comedy tracks of Ali, Brahmanandam, Venu Madhav, Raghu Babu failed to evoke any laughter. The romantic track between the lead pair could have been better. The others were just about okay.

Conclusion:

The film which starts with a typical scientific problem actually puts all the cards on the table and the concept of suspense is lost then and there. Just when things were getting boring, a good twist is incorporated seconds before the interval, which builds good expectations on the second half but then the second half also proves disappointing with compelling sentimental scenes. The film lost its momentum due to discontinuity and two three tracks running parallely, so time was spent putting two and two together. Though the technical values were high, focus seemed to be more on the presentation and the makers missed out on the content and the correct conceptualization of the plot. Character building is important for any racy action treat and this was missing here. The film might manage to get some decent scores due to the good audio and the technical effects along with the hard work done by Kalyan, but commercially speaking, it might have to stand the test of time to know the actual outcome at the box office.
