Miss Universe 2008 Pageant and Contestants

Who won Miss Universe 2008? The 2008 Miss Universe pageant is currently held in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa, Vietnam. The coronation night will happen live in The Crown Convention Center on Sunday July 13, 2008 9:00-11:00 PM ET aired via NBC channel. In the Philippines, it will be in July 14 at 8:00 AM live via satellite on ABS-CBN. The said competition will be hosted by America’s Got Talent host Jerry Springer and actress/singer Mel B.

What are your interests and what do you enjoy doing the most?
Listening to music, sketching and being around kids.

What is your career ambition?
My career ambition is to open a beauty school as there is a dearth of such schools in India. I would like to introduce one and help aspirants get the needed grooming and advice, as I know this line well and would like to use it for the benefit of others.

What is your proudest personal accomplishment?
My proudest personal accomplishment was when I bagged the all rounder trophy in the last year of my schooling.

What is something unique that has happened to you; some interesting thing about you?
I got a scar on my right thigh trying to save a little puppy's life. Since then I consider it to be my lucky scar.

What do you want the judges to know about you?
I am aware, focused, disciplined, determined and courageous. I love my family and animals. I love to interact; I would rather be surrounded with people than live in isolation. I am a city girl, very comfortable in front of the camera. I love being around people. Being on stage in front of an audience gives me a high because of the instant reaction.

Attack on sakshi newspaper's office

news that there was an attack on sakshi newspaper's office in Chirala.. no damages but agitation by the people of christian religion against to the cartoon published in sakshi showing Jesus having cigarette and wine bottle in his hands ..

people didn't even forget about "baaduga netalu" issue and now comes "jesus" issue.. all this while people are saying that YSR & his son-in-law or boosting up the christianity in the state but the same religion people are now in the rage against Jagan & YSR.. TDP SC cell demanded the arrest of Jagan as the police arrested editor srinivas of andhrajyothy recently.. they said that if the government is transperant and not biased, they should arrest Jagan Immediately..

sorry guys.. sakshi has already removed this image [sakshi killed sakshyam.. i mean the cartoon..] .. the cartoon is no more in sakshi newspaper's website.. I heard in western countries christians believe 13 as a bad number (evil number)..It seems 13 is an evil number for sakshi too.. because this is the first time sakshi had a bad experience from the public.. all this while they faced criticism only from the opponent political party leaders.. which sakshi didn't care much..need not to be? :) but this time its from public.. not at all good for a new born newspaper to have this kind of situations..

i didn't see this cartoon yet.. if somebody did please leave a link here in the comments section so that everybody can see the reason of this whole issue..if someone is receiving newspaper print edition to their house, please upload the pic and leave a link here..

Sakshi News paper into a Controversy

Sakshi is the daily Telugu newspaper which is launched on March, 2008. Sakshi paper, sakshi news paper, sakshi newspaper, www.sakshi.com and sakshi.com are among the pop words that were used to search for the Telugu news online.

Today a contreversy arised in sakshi telugu newspaper.Where they had printed the picture of Jesus Christ in a wrong way i mean in an unusual way.So all Christians should condemn this issue and we should all make the editor apologize for the mistake done by him.As Sakshi newspaper is a famous Telugu daily They should be careful while selecting images.I can't explain the picture but see for yourself.Jesus Christ is a living God at least be careful while you do photoshop, experiment it on animals trees etc and please don't experiment your talent on picture's of god's and Human Beings.

Miss Kerala 2008 - Photo Gallery

The much-awaited grand finale of the 'Miss Kerala 2008' held in Kochi with the crowing ceremony of Shree Thulasi Mohan.

Shree Thulasi Mohan, who is an interior designer by profession, was visibly excited and happy.



Rima Kallingal from thrissur is the Runner Up and Kochi’s Ann Joseph who is a plus one student is the second runner up. Ann Joseph is the youngest participant in the Miss Kerala 2008 Beauty contest.

'Saroja' audio launch invite-CREATIVE is the word

The much awaited audio launch function for the film 'Saroja' is slated to happen on the 14th of July at 6 pm at the Chennai Trade Center Convention Hall in Nandambakkam.

Invitations have been handed out. One look at it and the word that hits the mind is CREATIVE. This refreshing invitation has been designed as a tabloid-size newspaper bearing the title 'THE TIMES OF SAROJA' and contains news articles about the film. None of the articles actually are from a direct perspective.

All articles such as 'Chemical Lorry Overturns' and 'Uncovering the Suspects' have been presented as though a huge event had happened hampering normal life and the prime suspect behind all these is a man named Venkat Prabhu an eccentric, who was heard mumbling…. 'an ordinary day….an extraordinary event'…. Investigations led to two vital clues….a girl named Saroja and a date, July 14th. The investigators seem to be baffled and are clueless as to what the connection is….

Truly refreshingly different. The newspaper also contains articles on the characters in the film and a special on Yuvan Shankar Raja's new avatar as a rock star.

The invitation has been designed by EMC.

The 'Chennai 600024' team sure is rocking and has created huge expectations with the film 'Saroja'. One thing is for sure….there are lorry loads of creativity with this team.

Let's see if the audio launch is also as creative as the invitation.

A film arriving with little hype or fanfare proves that if packaged neatly with a succinct narration, it can sustain the interest of the audience despite being devoid of a big star cast.

Debutant Sasikumar, who had his initial training under Bala and Ameer has followed their path in choosing a different plot for his first film and succeeds in delivering a slick product. He has sketched, in an impressive fashion, the lives of people who are drawn into killing, portraying Madurai from a different perspective.

The story, set in the 80s, takes place in Madurai Subramaniapuram, a suburb of the city. It is also set in and around the Mofusil bus stand and the Polytechnic College. It revolves around five friends, the prominent ones being Jai, Kanja Karuppu and Sasikumar. They become involved in petty fights and brawls, frequenting the police station. Their release from the police station is usually aided by their neighbor Samudirakani whose elder brother happens to be a former councilor. A romantic angle is added to the storyline when Jai falls in love with the councilor's daughter.

As the story proceeds, the councilor is deprived of a chief post in his party by a member from the opposite camp. This distresses Samudirakani and to help him, the trio kills the member of the opposite group and goes to jail in the hope that Samudirakani would bail them out. But as luck would have it, even though Samudirakani ignores them, the trio somehow emerges out of the jail taking the help of a different source. Fuming with anger for

being let down by Samudirakani, the group plans to avenge themselves. From here on, the plot delves on the repercussions and twists and turns that springs from their plan to take revenge.

Subramaniapuram begins on a note of suspense that catches the viewer instantly, and sustains it till the end. The narrative is spun in an intelligent fashion. Though it moves slowly in some places, it raises the curiosity level of the viewer about what will happen next. The Madurai Tamil spoken here is simply an auditory delight.

Debutant music director James Vasanthan –former television personality- proves his mettle and impresses, especially in the romantic sequences where he is being helped by Ilayaraja's 'siru pon mani asaiyum' track. His scores are exciting with no trace of a newcomer whatsoever. Cinematographer, editor and director need to be complimented in the introductory scenes of characters.

A sample of artful editing can be palpable in the sequences wherein the chutney turns into sambar in a different place in the plate and in the scene where a bucket of water one takes to bathe turns into water on the other's head. Director Sasi’s approach is throughout realistic: he chooses shots carefully, amplifying the film’s tone of realism deeper. Kudos, also, to the art director who has brought in the feel of the 80s in all the scenes.

Subramaniapuram is certain to be lapped up. However, this is not a film for romantic buffs.

Verdict: A credible work from a debutant.
