Abhinav Bindra (born September 28, 1983) wins a Gold for INDIA for the first time in Olympics in Shooting event. 11 august 2008 10:00Am Indian time can be written in golden history He scored 700.5 points leaving behind china and Finland for the silver and bronze.
Till 6th round Abhinav was on 3rd position and on 7th and 8th round he was on 2nd position and after 9th round he was in tie with finland with first position.Till 9th round abhinav was consiting shooting 10.5 10.3 and 10 above and the final round the 10th round a superb shoot 10.8 to end up in gold what a sight...... It was our Abhinavs day,marvaleous work done by him.
The bronze medal was won by Finland’s Henri Hakkinen, who was leading the field after the qualification round, but was unable to hold off Bindra and Zhu in the final.
Bindra held his nerve to score 10.8 on the 10th and final shot, while Zhu shot 10.5 and Hakkinen fell back with a poor score of 9.7.
